Happy Tuesday! Good morning!
Easter has come and gone! I really can't believe it. The weekend was something I really needed. Over the past seven days, we had two family members pass away from stage 4 cancer within one side of my family. Both diagnosed within the past few months and left us way to early. As a family, we are all clinging on to each other and that's when I realized that we have to stay connected.
Here are 13 of my cousins that live in my hometown. We all grew up super close and now that I live a few hours away, I don't get to see them as often as I'd like. We all decided to meet up once a month for cousins supper! Over the weekend was our supper and we had so much fun! We even planned the next four months. It was a great time of laughter, love, and healing.
We had a wonderful time staying with my parents and the kids came. We were minus one of our children, but he was there in our hearts. We had a wonderful Easter lunch at Boone Tavern in Berea, Kentucky. I went straight for the dessert table. I did. It was amazing and delicious.
Like I said, we had two family members pass away within 7 days and I got to see friends and family that I'd not seen in a long time. I've always called Nicholasville my home and I just live in northern Kentucky. When I as sitting in the funeral looking around, I realized that I'd been gone longer than I ever lived there and my true home was northern Kentucky where I raised my boys, own my home, started my career and live daily.
I can travel back to my parent's house pretty quickly, but I've made my own roots for me and my family. When we pulled back into our driveway, I looked at my house so different for the first time. Proudly, I announced to Eddy, "we're home."
