Happy Tuesday!! I wanted to thank everyone for the awesome birthday wishes. I went to my parents on Friday and spent the night there. The next day, we celebrated with family and watched a few ballgames. This is where I have to say GO CATS!!! As in Kentucky Wildcats because they won our SEC Conference Tournament. How about that for a birthday present?!

Since NKU Basketball lost our Horizon League Tournament and didn't make it to the NCAA, we still get to go to the NIT. It's pretty exciting! Jack and the rest of the team gathered at the coach's house to watch the selection process. I bet that was fun for him! AND...NKU plays Louisville! Of course we are going tonight and I can't wait! Go Norse!

BUT....back to the birthday! Other than coffee, I LOVE LOVE LOVE butterflies. Call me a freak (that'd be an honor ;) ), but when Charlie had his leg amputated, I was a mess. Scooter was also uneasy when Charlie wasn't home. I jumped up and took Scooter for a walk. The butterfly in the photo below landed on my hand when I walked out of my house and stayed there for four miles until I walked back into my house. It was unbelievable. I swear it was God's way of telling me that everything was going to be okay.

No joke! Every time I ask for a sign (like Charlie's toe amputation or even with Scooter or my family), butterflies appear in the strangest of place. Since then, I've adapted the butterfly as my spirit animal.

Eddy got me a beautiful stained glass butterfly for my birthday. I couldn't wait to drive home and put it in my kitchen window. I love it.

Beaches, Bungalows, & Burglaries Chapter One

“A campground?” I gulped back a good hissy fit, because no one could ever underestimate the power of a good hissy fit, something I’ve tried really hard not to do in years. “As in tiny little metal houses and port-a-potties?” “Well, I think they have a toilet in them” said Stanley Shelton, my lawyer. He eased back in his big fancy, wingback leather chair with his elbows resting on the wooden arms and his fingers drumming against each other. The grey pinstriped suit was of the finest materials and the nice crystal cufflinks were the touch it needed that screamed successful lawyer. “I think the toilet is small, but you’re small.” He rubbed his hand over his bald head and then proceeded to draw his hand over his mustache and beard. I tried as hard as I could to keep it together, but my composure was under attack. “What about my house in the Hamptons? I’ll just go there.” I let out a sigh of relief. It was a perfect plan. “I’m desperately going to miss the New York City apartment, …
