TROUBLE IN THE TAROT (book 3 of the
Fortune Teller Mysteries – March 5, 2013)
For
psychic Sunshine Meadows, sometimes fortunes can be deceiving…
Lately
Sunny has been experiencing a period of big opportunity: her business in
Divinity, New York, is thriving, and Detective Mitch Stone has finally agreed
to take Sunny on a date. But thanks to her clairvoyant abilities, Sunny knows
better than anyone that life deals out bad cards along with the good.
When
Sunny agrees to read tarot cards at the annual summer Solstice Carnival, she
meets her Granny Gert’s “arch nemesis” Fiona Atwater, and is overcome by a
vision of Fiona in a violent argument. Sunny knows trouble is brewing when
Granny and Fiona start having squabbles all over town. But the fighting comes
to a head when a local baker gets run over by a big white Cadillac—and Granny
and Fiona are found at the crime scene.
Sunny
knows she should step aside and let Mitch handle the investigating, but she’s
not about to ignore her visions and leave her granny’s life in fate’s hands…
Kari Lee Townsend lives in central New York with her
understanding husband, her three busy boys, and her oh-so-dramatic daughter :-)
She is the National Bestselling Author, Agatha & RT Reviewer's Choice Award
nominee for her Fortune Teller Mystery series. Kari also writes romance under
the name Kari Lee Harmon. Small towns, mystical elements, quirky characters and
a few chuckles along the way are what her books are all about. To find out more

Chat With Your Favorite Author On Kindle!
After the release of A Charming Crime, the first novel in the Magical Cures Mystery Series, I wanted to connect with my readers on a deeper level.
I already have a very active STREET TEAM where my readers and I connect on a very personal level and I LOVE it! But what about you guys that don't have a Facebook or aren't on my STREET TEAM that do read my novels?
I want to reach every single reader. And this means thinking outside of the box. I already belong to online book clubs, Skype book club, Google Plus book clubs, and in person book clubs.
My last KINDLE chat was only open to my STREET TEAM, but now I'm opening it up to everyone! I want you to join us! I want you to see how you can connect to your favorite authors. I might not be your favorite author or you might not have read my novels, but that's okay! I want you to see how it works!
On Tuesday, December 4 at 9pm EST, I will be on my KINDLE FIRE in A Charming Cure novel (YES....you have to own the novel in order to participate. It's only 2.99 for a best seller.)
When you tap on the menu at the bottom, you will see a little chat bubble. The bubble is where you can leave a comment about the book anytime you are reading and the comment will stay there forever. Sometimes I go in my novels and see what readers write and sometimes I write back to them. I want my readers to know that I'm just like them. I put my pants on one leg at a time too.
The Kindle chat isn't just about A Charming Cure, you have free reign to ask me any questions you want about anything!
Here is a blog post I did about the Kindle Chat in August. We had so much fun!
So come on over and join us on Tuesday!! We'd love to have you! And if you haven't had time to read Monday's post on the Thanksgiving that WASN'T, you still have time to go over and leave a comment for an opportunity to win a free copy of my Christmas short story, A NEW TRADITION!
If you can't come to the chat. . .how would you like to meet up with me and discuss?
A CHARMING CURE RELEASE DAY!
Today is the day!! It's a new release for the Magical Cures Series! A Charming Cure is the second in the series and full of June Heal and all her fun!!
How did I prepare for this release?
I did exactly what has worked for me in the past.
1) Street Team
As you know I have a very active STREET TEAM. A month ago I posted a poster to my STREET TEAM with the date and time on it. Of course it started the hype of my GRATITUDE TO THEM.
2) Put an all call out to my author friends
I posted on my writer groups, goodreads, and blogs asking for donations. Why? At the release party I don't promote my book. . .directly. . .I promote all my author friends books.
I had over fifty authors donate their ebook or print book to the release party. I want to give back to my readers too! They love finding new authors and what better way to find some than by getting free books?!
If my readers like their books, I can guarantee my readers go back and buy all of the rest of the author's books. My STREET TEAM is so amazing and full of avid readers.
3) Release the book!
Why did I release the book three days before the online release party?
Simple.....to spread the buzz! The release party is all about gratitude. I ask the authors that donated to spread the word about the release and in return they get access to my 300 + STREET TEAM members on the release day!
I ask my 300+ STREET TEAM members to tweet and facebook the release so we can party at the release party instead of trying to spread the word.
4) More marketing....
I posted to all the groups that allow you to post and promo new releases on Facebook. Groups like Kindle Mystery, Cozy Mystery Cafe, Kindle Nation Daily, Cheap e-reads and many, many more!
I looked at my @ feed in Twitter and thanking everyone who tweeted the release and retweeted their tweet.
Clicked on the Facebook feed and thanked everyone who put the release in their status.
This is an ongoing marketing tool. I'm so grateful to everyone who has promoted this book. There is NOTHING better than PR BUDDIES!!
Next Friday I'm going to tell you all about the release party. It was much different than the last release party I had with the first book in The Magical Cure Series, A CHARMING CRIME.
Go ahead! If you like my blog and get something out of it....can I ask you a return favor? Will you please tweet my release and put it in your facebook status??

Blogging doesn't make you money....SAY WHAT???
Sometimes I come across some really GREAT people that make really IGNORANT comments. It cracks me up because most of the time, these people have no clue what they are talking about...and in that case, they really should keep their mouth closed.
Am I ranting? No. I'm actually chuckling inside, because these comments give me GREAT ideas to blog.
I'm not going to tell you the participants in this story, but I think it's really important for you to know the outcome....
I had suggested to a TRADITIONALLY published author that they should start a blog using their new book as the theme. IT'S A GREAT IDEA!!
I got a sweet smile, laughed at, and then..."blogging doesn't make you money."
I didn't rant, or go off, I simply got a pen out of my purse and wrote GREAT BLOG TOPIC on the palm of my hand. I did NOT want to forget the feeling I was having when those words left the mouth of that author.
I was almost giddy! Excited in fact! Little does that author know....
So this brings me to what I think is going to be a GREAT topic. WHY BLOGGING IS CRITICAL TO MAKING YOU MONEY!
1) Forces you to think about a target audience. Isn't this what helps sell our books??? Selling books=money...right?
If you target your audience (this blog targets writers and how to help them-readers probably AREN'T reading this blog), and promote it as the targeted blog, you will gain readers. The author who prompted me to write this blog, has a VERY targeted theme that would appeal to a VERY targeted audience that will lead to many sells...
For instance, if you write paranormal, you would do some great blogs posts on haunted houses, paranormal activities, talk about paranormal shows....etc....you get the point. You are building that target audience.
2) Forces you to write.
We have to write in order to get a book out. Blogging helps you stay focused and write! It helps you hone your voice. You can experiment with what works best for you and see the results from the traffic you get and comments you will receive.
Blogging helps you explore topics that forces you to research topics, which in turn makes you more knowledgeable. AND that could spark more ideas for writing. Writing=money!
3) Makes you more visible. (blog forums)
I use my blog to promote my novels. Regardless this is for writers, I post on all forums. When I post a blog, I go to the Kindle forums, Nook forums, writer forums and post the blog topic with the URL. This leads to a lot of page views and believe it or not...usually a couple books sold!
The forums have my books in my tag lines and I hear from the reader how much they liked my blog and book covers so they bought "such and such book." THAT'S MONEY....RIGHT?
4) Creates a following.
A following is what all authors want! WE love to have readers, regardless of where they come from.
5) Leads to appearances.
This blog has given me a great platform to teach workshops. I've been teaching workshops for over three years. During this time, I have met some GREAT people in the writing community. I teach at conventions where I meet readers and writers. The readers want my books, the writers want any advice I can give them.
Blogging has also given me the opportunity to participate in book clubs! The book clubs read one of my books, and they love to bring up how I come up with characters, their development, the process. With out blogging about it here, I'd have a really hard time answering those questions.
Don't listen to ignorant statements. Don't miss out on opportunities to find an audience. Hey...Donald Trump blogs! Do you think he'd waste his time if he wasn't making money???
Blogging is like the NEW BLACK for authors. Well...maybe black doesn't look good on everyone, but it is my favorite color!
