It was a state holiday in Kentucky over the weekend! I'm not talking Cinco De Mayo, it was DERBY WEEKEND!!!
We went to a Derby party and I had to bet on My Boy Jack....duh....for the name only! I'm glad I didn't bet much, since I lost. But we still had fun, even had a Mint Julip along with good friends. I even bake my Kentucky Derby Pie to take as a dessert. Be sure to scroll down to grab that recipe! YUMMMMIEEEE!
We also went to my nephew's high school baseball game. It was his first time pitching and his school was playing my children's alma mater high school. My nephew did great and he was so happy we were there. Of course, I yelled and cheered him on the entire time.
I also want to thank everyone for responding to the Facebook post about what I should binge watch on Hulu. The Handmaid's Tale won and OMG....we watched the entire first season and started the second season. I'm still getting used to Hulu, so the second season is the current season and the shows are distributed weekly. Anyways....I have to say that Margaret Atwood's novel, The Handmaid's Tale, and the Hulu version are pretty darn close to each other! Well done Margaret!
I want to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day! There are so many different types of moms and it's not the the birth mothers that deserve the day too.
